Centrelink Program for HACC-funded Community Service Organisations
In order to be eligible to recruit income support recipient volunteers, Community Service Organisations (CSOs) have to register as an approved organisation.
Generally, CSOs that are registered with their local Volunteer Resource Centre will already be on the approved list. This is because the approval process is very simple and mainly concerns the verification of the organisation’s not-for-profit status and confirmation that appropriate volunteer personal accident and public liability insurance is in place.

Centrelink volunteering can also be undertaken as part of a program known as the Voluntary Work Initiative (VWI).
