Looking for Volunteers
HACC-funded agencies are expected to ensure that the recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers are appropriate to ensure quality. In order to achieve this, volunteers should be offered ongoing training and information as well as appropriate levels of supervision and support.
Regular recruitment of new volunteers provides a greater choice for consumers when matching volunteer skills and interests. Volunteers recruited should be capable, committed, motivated and reliable. Diversity in volunteer experiences, cultural backgrounds and ages is encouraged, however all volunteers providing a service to consumers must be aged 18 years and over.
