Eastern Volunteer Resource Centre September Update
Hi All,
I attended the Eastern Metropolitan Region COmmunication and Transport Access Joint Launch. The Launch was very well attended by many CSO's and community members.
Paul Denham, the Mayor of Maroondah City Council, opened and welcomed everyone. We then had various guest speakers who spoke about their HACC service or their own experiences as service users.
The Honourable Sherryl Garbutt MP, Minister for Children's Affairs, officially launched the Eastern Communication Services which included the Communicating with People with Disabilities booklet, Transport Resource Kit for HACC organisations and CALD communities and Yooralla Eastern Communication Services.
We then had some entertainment by One Voice which is a group from Leisure Actions run by SCOPE and I have to say this was very entertaining.

Children's Program: They are currently setting up a children's program and will require additional volunteers to help run this program.
Opportunity Shop (based in Belgrave): The position involves pricing and selling stock, maintaining the shop, chatting to customers. The volunteer coordinator informed me they are always in need of volunteers to run the shop.
